SERVICE
AND ACCESS
Developed to meet the most demanding
operating requirements whatever the
application, The Flotec external valve has
also been designed to comply with H&SE
guidelines (manual lifting). By the removal
of 8 no M16 bolts, access to the one
internal moving part can be gained.
All maintenance, inspection and insurance
work can be carried out with the vessel
remaining in position, thus turning all
PPM tasks into a one man operation.
A full range of spare parts are kept in stock
and are available as an off the shelf item.
TYPICAL
INSTALLAT ION
A typical installation to a steel hopper or
silo wall (chain drilled or flame cut) and
the fitting of the blast delivery tube
(bolted or welded), The valve and vessel
are then mounted to the delivery tube.
Services i.e. Air/ Electric’s supplied by the
customer, unless otherwise stated, are then
connected to the system via a purpose
designed control panel and filter/lubricator
assembly.
Coal Industry Fig.5
Flotec Air Cannons are considered an
essential item of equipment to promote
the flow of material from Staple Bunkers,
Run of Mine Bunkers and rapid load
systems through to the smallest transfer
chutes and feed hoppers
Power Stations Fig.6
Again, where it is considered paramount
to maintain the free flow of coal through
the power station, i.e., Mill Feed Bunkers,
Road Reclaim Hoppers Transfer Chutes
and Mill Feed Tubes, Flotec Air Cannons
can be fitted in their various sizes and configurations to whatever specification is required.
Quarrying Industry Fig.7
Mineral extraction is a major industry in
the United Kingdom and Flotec Air
Cannons Systems have been designed
and installed at various sites, namely,
Granite, Limestone, Sand, Gypsum etc.,
and are considered a vital piece of
equipment to ensure the continued smooth
running of the industry.
Process Industry Fig.8
Flotec Air Cannons are ideally suited to
the requirements of these industries
where it is considered vital that feedstuffs,
i.e., chocolate crumb, soya, grains, sugar
and animal feeds etc., remain
uncontaminated. Flotec Air Cannons will
operate without the need for lubrication
providing the operation medium is
supplied from a clean, reliable and dry
source.
Cement Production Fig.9
Cement is produced using various
processes, i.e., dry and semi-dry, and
Flotec Air Cannons are specifically
designed to be installed at any part of
the process where flow problems are
known to occur. Parts of the process
produce high temperatures and volatile
gasses and require highly specialised
equipment to operate in these
environments. Flotec Air Cannons have
been developed in conjunction with the
cement industry and have been proven
to be an efficient and vital item of
equipment on Lepol grates, pre-heater
towers, cooler grates, furnaces cyclones
and hoppers/silos feeding various
cement additives.
